Musician, Sound Artist & Film Photographer
An omnivore of sound, lover of monophonic plainchants, noise, film photography and the dérive, Will Klingenmeier has spent the last fifteen years living as a borderline hermit developing a distinct artistic palate. He is a sound guy from Colorado but a wanderer to be sure, often spending months in foreign lands collecting sounds and experiences, later creatively expressing them through compositions and 35mm photography. What started as a love for the guitar and recording on a 4-track cassette deck has expanded into far-out Kyma creations, ultimate analogue daydreams and a curiosity to see far corners of the world. In his artwork there is an emphasis on using the sights and sounds recorded while traveling, indeterminacy, real-time processing, magnetic tape and synthesis.
In spring 2019 he began a YouTube channel called Spectral Evolver which acts as a portfolio and document of his work and sound journey— link below.
